Etymology
From Late Latin alphabetum|alphab�tum < Greek αλ�άβη�ο�, from the first two letters of the Greek alphabet, alpha (�) and beta (�), from Phoenician aleph (�, �, "ox") + beth (� ,פ, "house"), so called because they were pictograms of those objects.
