to becue (transitive and intransitive)

  1. nautical To make fast a rope to an anchor when on rocky ground; the rope is made fast to the flukes and lightly tied to the ring - if the flukes are caught on the rocks, a sharp jerk will break the tie to the ring, and the anchor can be hoisted, upside down, from the flukes.
