From ancient Greek διαλεκÏ�ική (dialektike) "the art of argument through interactive questioning and answering", from διαλεκÏ�ικÏ�Ï� (dialektikos) "competent debater", from διαλÎγομαι (dialegomai) "to participate in a dialogue", from διά (dia) "inter, through" + λÎγειν (legein) "to speak".
