From L. encyclopædia < AGr. polytonic|�γκ�κλιο� �αιδεία (enkyklios paideia) < polytonic|�γκ�κλιο� (enkyklios) "circular, rounded, round" < polytonic|κ�κλο� (kyklos) "circle" + polytonic|�αιδεία (paideia) "the rearing of a child", or "education", from polytonic|�αιδίον (paidion) "child".
