Usage notes
English once did but no longer has a middle (sometimes called the mediopassive) voice, but the example demonstrates how it works. For highly inflected languages like ancient Greek, the middle voice has its own distinct verb form. For English, it�s just a grammatical oddity dealt with by use of a reflexive pronoun.
