quarto

  1. A size of paper usually 8 x 10 inches (203mm x 254mm). Formed by cutting a large sheet of (say 16 x 20 inches) twice to form 4 pages. The exact size depends upon the original sheet.
  2. A book size, usually 10 to 13 inches tall and 7.5 to 8.5 inches wide. Intermediate in size between octavo and folio. Abbreviated 4to.
