From the Swedish trona or from the Spanish trona, both derived from the Arabic ARchar|اطر�� (atrūn), which derives from the Arabic ARchar|�طر�� (natrūn); from the Ancient Greek νί��ον (nitron), from the Ancient Egyptian ntry.
