- (microbiology) The set of DNA segements (cis) of a transacting factor on a genome scale.
- (microbiology) A map of all locations effected by the estrogen receptor.
This allowed the researchers to identify all the points in the genome where binding with the ER takes place.
Etymology: This term was coined by investigators at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School Technologies, from the words cis (DNA segment) and ome (Greek word for manager)
