Etymology: Late Latin hypocorisma, a loan from Greek noun (hypokórisma) from the verb '- (hypokórizomai = 'to talk and handle at a childish manner'). The Greek verb hypokorízomai is compounded from '- (hypo- = 'under, beneath, secretly') + (korizomai = 'to caress'). In the verb you can see the word (kóros = 'boy') or (kóre = 'girl').
